Contemporary Cosway style binding of full purple grained calf, the boards blocked in gilt with arabesques and corner ornaments, spine gilt in compartments and lettered direct. The upper cover with the watercolour on vellum (?) Arms of the Earl of Thanet heightened with gold within oval frame under glass . The lower cover blocked in gilt with the letter "T". Wide inner gilt dentelles. All edges gilt. In excellent condition. Inscribed by the author to the dedicatee of this work "To the Right Honourable the Earl of Thanet with the Authors' best respects". An uncommon work, only 4 copies cited by Copac.
