Clare Short, MP (retired); the late Donald Dewar, MP (inaugural First Minister of Scotland): Roy Hattersley, MP (now Baron Hattersley); the late Michael Foot MP; the late Tony Benn, MP; the late Robin Cook, MP; Gordon Brown MP; George Galloway, MP. Neil Kinnock, Michael Foot and Gordon Brown were each Leaders of the Party at various times and Brown was, of course, the most recent Labour Party Prime Minister. A wonderful copy of this first full biography of the 1997 Nobel Prize-winner and his wife and life-long collaborator, the actress & writer Franca Rame. A Fine unread copy in Fine unclipped dustjacket. SIGNED TWICE by Dario Fo - at the front endpaper alongside the signature of Franca Rame - and for a second time at the title page below the signature of the author. Possibly a unique copy, thus. Signed for the seller in person at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Stockholm: Norstedts, 1996. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. The original Swedish edition of the book published in English as "Private Confessions". Inscribed, signed and dated by Ingmar Bergman at the front endpaper. Inscription reads (in Swedish), "To (name), with heartfelt greetings from "Ingmar Bergman 19.3.99". Close to the inscription the previous owner/recipient of the book has fixed what looks to be a commemorative Swedish postage stamp featuring an image of Bergman. On the same page there are very faint residue marks suggesting a photgraph or newspaper- clipping, perhaps, was once there. Bumped at both spine ends but otherwise both the book and the dustjacket are in excellent, clean, condition.

First Printing. 324 pp. Lightly pushed at the spine tips and bumped at the corners of the lower cover. At the front endpaper there is a gift inscription (two lines, name and date). Text-block toned commensurate with age only. The book is square and tight with no reading creases to the backstrip. The dustjacket is unclipped but the original price has been inexpertly scraped off. No nicks or tears to the edges or corners, some colour fading to the spine and also the rear panel but overall a VG dustjacket. A nice copy, SIGNED and inscribed without dedication ("Best Wishes, Willie McIlvanney") for the seller in person. Now a genuinely scarce title. particluarly signed.

London: Macmillan, 1979. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. An attractive copy in the publisher's brown cloth. Leaning slightly, the corners of the lower board are bumped. Creakingly tight, the book bears no previous ownership marks etc, the covers are very clean, the coloured top edge intact and the other two edges clean and free from foxing or other marks. A nice copy. The dustjacket in not price-clipped. It has one short tear to the bottom edge, front panel and a tape repair to a short tear at the top edge of the lower panel. The jacket is bright and colour-faded only at the spine area. A VG or even Near Fine dustjacket, a pleasing copy overall. SIGNED by Don McCullin at the title page (for the seller in person), and the signing-event ticket is laid loosely into the book.
