Octavo, illustrations, limitation statement completed in manuscript by the author on title-page, original green cloth with exceptionally bright pictorial dustwrapper (with loosely inserted 1961 N.S.W. Rod Fishers' Society circular, at which time Hedge was its secretary).
First edition ‒ issue limited to 500 copies (but fewer than this were actually numbered and signed by Hedge), distributed first to members of the Rod Fishers' Society. This copy number 15, additionally inscribed by Hedge. (1000 copies of the first edition without the limitation statement on the title-page were also printed.)
