A scarce book in any condition. Neat previous owner's gift inscription on title page. This is the author / illustrator's very first children book, one of the most famous female illustrators at the 19th / 20th turn of the century, Blanche McManus illustrated books for Rudyard Kipling, Lewis Carroll, Alfred Lord Tennyson and many other authors of the day. Classic fantasy tale from a major turn of the century illustrator, rare collectible. 4to. 133 pgs + [4 pgs. index].
