Misprinted page numbers 464 and 456 (for 495 and 496). Rare in any condition, particularly when unrestored; French apothecary and reputed seer Michel de Nostredame (December 1503 – July 1566) issued his Les Propheties originally in 1555 and gained world-wide fame. In 1672, Theophilus de Garencières, a French apothecary who came to England with the French ambassador in the 1650s, was the first to translate Nostradamus into English, creating the bilingual text with the French quatrains with accompanying English translations and annotations; Woodcuts; [34], 522 pages .
