A collector's edition of this important study of "Boss" William Marcy Tweed and his corrupt control of New York City politics in the years following the Civil War, written by UC Santa Barbara historian Alec Callow. The book is beautifully bound in 22 kt. gilt- decorated French brown leather with raised bands on spine; all-edges gilt. An unused Easton Press bookplate is affixed to the front pastedown endpaper. The book is in near fine condition: clean, bright, and tight, with slight fading along the spine.. First Edition Thus. Hard Cover. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
