Moscow: Unknown, 1978. Loose prints. A duo-fold card folio with 12 loose silver-gelatin prints featuring images of Anton Pavlovich Chehkov (1860-1904), the celebrated playwright. Each is 5.5 x 3.5 inches with a textured surface and text on the verso. The images include: Chehkov and his wife, the actress Olga Knipper; Chekhov with his family and friends in front of his Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya home, 1890; with Maxim Gorky in Yalta, circa 1900; a snapshot with Leo Tolstoy and Tolstoy's wife, Sonia, 1901; a variant of the famous photo of Chekhov reading The Seagull to the Moscow Art Theatre with Constantin Stanislavski, May 1899; a young Chekhov with his brother Nikolai, 1882; Dmitry Narkisovich Mamin-Sibiriak, Chekhov and Ignatii Potapenko; with a group of people at a picnic, dated 1890; a full-length portrait taken in 1902, two years before his death at 44; with three men, 1889; and two portraits, 1889 and 1892.
