Illustrated with a full color frontispiece and 3 black and white plates. Hinges starting to crack, ends lightly worn. General tone with lightly soiled endpages. The dust jacket is missing a large portion from spine and back panel. The front panel is heavily creased. A clear, removable, protective cover has a computer generated title adhered to it. From the "Series for Young People" first published with this cover in 1918.; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
Sinopsis
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne published in 1870. It tells the story of Captain Nemo and his submarine Nautilus as seen from the perspective of Professor Pierre Aronnax. The first illustrated edition (not the original edition which had no illustrations) was published by Hetzel and contains a number of illustrations by Alphonse de Neuville and Édouard Riou.
