Sobre este artículo
New York: Vanguard Press, 1930. First Edition. Octavo (21cm). Tan cloth boards, lettered in black on spine and front cover; dustjacket; 349pp. Fine, tight copy in a crisp, price-clipped dustwrapper with a few minuscule losses at extremities, still Near Fine. Nearing offers a fundamentally Marxist interpretation of contemporary economic trends in the West, likening the rise of trusts, monopolies and cartels to the rise of Imperial powers in antiquity and predicting their imminent collapse under the weight of Third World revolt (if we may be permitted this anachronism) and internal dissension. An unusually meaty work for Nearing, half-composed of annotations and scholarly appendices; not common, and truly scarce in this condition.
