The book is Fine, almost New while the jacket has just very sl. wear and a small price-clip. The author disappeared in 1938 and reappeared later with the news that he and two Swiss mountaineers had been to the Gilgit region of the Himalayas with the ambitious project of an attack on Rakaposhi (25,500 ft). Rakaposhi beat them. He also travelled into Afghanistan where he was arrested as a spy. This book is written and photographic record of these journeys and others. Overall, Fine in a Near Fine d/w.
