Rebacked, orig. spines laid down, spines somewhat sun-darkened, some wear to corners, cloth lightly rubbed, library bookplate and stamps, else a very good copy. MacCann arrived in the River Plate in 1842 to help establish commercial relations between England and Argentina. To this end, he is an accurate observer of the people, customs, and country paying great attention to natural resources, climate, and geography. Much time is spent observing the people of the Pampas and their commerce.
