Sobre este artículo

Methuen, 1972. Third Impression. paperback. Tolkien, J. R. R. : The Two Towers. Toronto : Methuen, 1972. Second Impression of the Canadian issue of the Second Allen and Unwin edition of 1966 (Hammond and Anderson: 5.e.ii, p 138). Duodecimo size (12mo), 7"/17.7cm h. Bound in publisher's glossy salmon pictorial wrappers, featuring Pauline Baynes illustration of the Fellowship etc. to front cover. [1-14], 15-352 numbered pp. C.J.R.T. map of Middle Earth to pp [10-11]. Mini reviews to inside rear wrapper of The Hobbit, Farmer Giles of Ham, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Tree and Leaf, and The Road Goes Ever On and On. Condition notes: moderate wear to wrappers with several small closed tears, folds. Pronounced concavity to spine, plus creasing (see photo) with interior hinge weakening at 180/Voice of Saruman. Former owner's name and date to first page, else no markings noted. Inside covers and pages notably tanned. Per Hammond and Anderson's bibliography, with the second impression, Tolkien made numerous corrections to the text of this edition. The Baynes' illustration is simply charming. We personally inspect every book we offer.

Sinopsis

The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien is a gripping and dramatic continuation of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Frodo and Sam find themselves on a treacherous path towards Mordor, burdened by the corrupting influence of the One Ring. Guided by the treacherous Gollum, their friendship is tested amidst the perils they face. Meanwhile, the remaining members of the Fellowship, joined by the kingdom of Rohan, confront the formidable wizard Saruman and his dark forces. Battles erupt, sacrifices are made, and the forces of good are pushed to their limits. With the fate of Middle-earth hanging in the balance, the book sets the stage for an epic clash between light and darkness.
