C. Dumont d'Urville visited Australia, New Zealand, Oceania, the Straits of Magellan, Chile, New Guinea, South East Asia, Tasmania, Antarctica and Torres Strait. Helen Rosenman was so interested by his story, she has translated from the French and rewritten the tale from d'Urville’s official accounts to create an exciting narrative account of these explorations.
