Summarizes the findings of the Gilliss led expedition with repsect to the "Journey Across the Andes and Pampas". And with seaparate papers documenting the native population, the biology, botany and geology of the surveys. Illustrated throughout with lithographed plates, some chromolithpgraphs of Indian Antiquities, hand colored plates (15) of native bird species along with uncolored lithographs of mamalia, reptiles, fish etc and of fossil remains. Cloth at spine cracking and flaking sith some old evidence of basic resotration. Shallow damp line crescent visible in the top and bottom spine corners of most plates, not visible to printed leaves. Hinges tender with loss of cloth in joints, still attached by crash and endleaves. Moderate toning and soiling to endleaves; some offsetting to pages adjacent to the lithographed plates. Ix, [3], 300 pp. Notable for the presence of all plates, including all 15 of the hand colored ornitology lithographs. Good only ...
