German-language medical treatise on epilepsy, gynecology, and obstetrics by Dr. Hermann Nerlinger, medical assistant at a sanitarium in Pforzheim in southern Germany.
Entitled Über die Epilepsie und das Fortpflanzungsgeschäft des Weibes in Ihren Gegenseitigen Beziehungen. Eine Historisch-Kritische und Klinische Untersuchung (On Epilepsy and the Reproductive Systems of Women in their Mutual Relations. A Historical-Critical and Clinical Investigation), Dr. Nerlinger's investigation included over 100 case studies, the results of which are compiled in a fold-out statistical chart.
"Epileptic women in the reproductive period are not even often observed by the obstetricians much less frequently than women who suffer the same to a disease whose most conspicuous symptom is manifested in epileptic seizures quite similar appearance of eclampsia. (p[1]; approx. translation)"
With 29 pages of detailed case studies reported in tabular form and including comments on pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum lactation.
