USOM brought together artists from various artistic backgrounds, most of whom were residing in displaced persons camps in Germany and Austria at that time. Edward Kozak served as the chairman. During its existence, USOM organized several exhibitions and participated in the UNRRA (United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration) international exhibition held at the German National Museum in Munich in 1947. Additionally, to the presented issues of the heavily illustrated magazine "Ukrainian Art," USOM published several albums and monographs.
