With an Author's compliments slip loosely inserted, and a newspaper cutting of an article by Elizabeth Andrews. Front board has some soiling and scuffing. Otherwise the cloth is clean and the gilt titles to front and spine are bright. Heavy tanning to rear endpapers, the front endpapers have much lighter discolouration. Occasional light foxing throughout, with some tanning to pages opposite illustrations. two of the illustrations show edgewear. Scarce pictorial dust jacket repaired but with loss to the spine. Scarce.
