French military chaplain Jules Chaperon's diary, particularly recounting aspects of the Armenian Genocide - Chaperon showed conspicuous bravery at Aintab in the Cilicia Campaign, and later established orphanages for Armenian children, many of who emigrated to France. Text in French. Editor Boyer, an archaeologist and historian, was also an abbot in France in the Var, a region of Armenian immigration, where he learned fluent Armenian to better serve his community. Slim paperback, as pictured, INSCRIBED by Boyer to Maurice Gras, a professor of French at the University of Wisconsin. Book shows light wear, minor scuffing. Text clean; 157 pages; b/w photos.
