Un Hogar Feliz

Barcelona: Compania Roca - Radiadores, 1930. Pamphlet. 23p., printed letterpress in two colors throughout with many interiors shown (cut-away diagrams, elevations, floorplans) each with a radiator or a heating vent indicated. Softbound in stapled 6.5x5 inch decorated wraps; staples are rusted, covers are dust- and handling-soiled with spotty foxing, the interior while clean also bears a little foxing. A good (good-only) copy. Text in Spanish. Heavily illustrated booklet advertising heating systems like boilers and radiators. The cover and interior illustrations have many aesthetically striking domestic scenes that emphasize the modern comfort and hygiene attained through indoor heating (cozy living rooms and hot baths). A centerspread has a cutaway illustration of the "typical" Spanish home. Rear cover has an illustration of the factories where the heating solutions are manufactured. The disposition of furniture in these idealized drawings is oddly compelling, like peeking into an expensive dollhouse.
