Marbled endpapers. Tight, clean very good copy.. With a unique watercolor illustration by Maurice Henri Orange. This specially bound copy with the initials F.M. stamped on the front cover. On the half title page is an inscription signed Fabien, and dated, Noël 1912. And then on front fly leaf there is that most exquisite watercolor painting of an Imperial Guard, titled "Le Sabre D'Honneur, 1804." The painting is inscribed to Madame Mougenot and signed M Orange. Maurice Henri Orange (1868 to 1916) was one of the finest illustrators of French military uniforms. 337 pp. including Index des Noms de Cités plus Table de Matières and colophon. Printed on laid paper. Deckle fore-edge.
