Sobre este artículo

London: George Newnes, 1902. Leather. Good Only. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A short novel by Arthur Conan Doyle, with numerous advertisements to front and rear. With previous owner's inscription to both sides of front free endpaper, of one Douglas Eady. With advertisements for garden tents, a stylish-looking cycling outfit, and Fenning's Fever Curer. The story is set in France, 1805. Conan Doyle's recurring character Brigadier Gerard appears as a major character in this short novel, which deals with the return of an exiled French aristocrat. In a half morocco binding with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, sound with slight shelfwear and bumping to head and tail of spine. Front hinge tender and may detach in post, despite careful packing. Internally, binding loosening in places. Slight marginal age-toning and occasional foxing. Good Only
