First edition (crossed out in ink by Nin on the copyright page an in its place, in ink, "1957" edition; 8vo, pp. 101; original pictorial wrappers; dampstains in the bottom margin throughout; prelims also with stains; all else good or better. This copy inscribed: "For Terrence Williams, Anais Nin." At the time of the inscription, Williams, a student at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, was proprietor of a small independent venture publishing the new poetry of poets soon to be famous, including Allen Ginsburg, Robert Creeley, Ed Dorn, and Tomas Transtromer.
