Kobenhavn: J.D. Quist, 1832. xvii,(1),216 pp. Quarto (25.5 X 21.5 cm.), 19th century marbled boards. Very early cloth spine with title label. Corners to match. Original endpapers. Edges untrimmed. 8 full page hand coloured lithographic plates. Large folding map at the rear. Text lightly to moderately foxed which is typical of this title. Plates have moderate-print through on the reverse. Quite an attractive copy. Lauridsen I, 130, Arctic Biblio 6032. Contains the author's diary of a trip up the East Coast of Greenland, wintering at Nukarbik but not being able to proceed further north due to ice conditions. The plates are beautifully colored and show an Umiak, Norse ruins and the interior of native dwellings. There are early observations on climate, temperature, ice conditions etc. Near contemporary inscription in Danish on front endpaper. Quite a scarce title. 1832
