Bookplate of Ogden Codman, Jr on the inside front cover. Codman was a successful architect and interior designed and he wrote a book with Edith Wharton. He decorated homes for two Vanderbilts, John D. Rockefeller Jr, Edith Wharton. He was a gay man who married a woman, as was the custom of the day. The binding is signed by a Paris bindery Bonneal.
