In this book he describes dome of the changes since his earlier tripand expands his sharp-eyed observations of life in China at a time when few visitors had such experiences. [This fascination with Chinese culture extended later to sailing on Lake Ontario in an imported Chinese Junk] This version of the books is the text of the first Macmillan edition, handsomely rebound in red cloth as "The Canada Wire Red Reel selection for 1973" distributed with the name of the recipient embossed on the front cover, and this copy is still in the original crisp paper jacket.
