He turns the information he's disovered over to the investigating magistrate, Elena Fiorini, and together begin a hunt for the killers. A quest which leads them deep into the Vatican's archives, and back to the last days of Mussolini's dictatorship, when people changed their identities but only pretended to shift their allegiances. .
