Sobre este artículo
London: Allen & Unwin, 1931. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. (London: George Allen & Unwin 1931). First UK Edition, first printing, translated from two German-language editions: "Das Weltbild der neuen Physik" and "Physikalische Gesetzlichkeit im Lichte neuer Forschung". This is the first English language edition. Translated by W H Johnston. Publisher's original dark brown cloth with black lettering to the spine and front board. Dark blue top-edge. A fine copy (a former owner's name stamped to the front paste-down) in a near fine dustwrapper priced 4s 6d net to the inside flap (as called for). The dustwrapper has a touch of minuscule loss to the spine ends and is darkened and mildly rubbed to the spine but is complete. An uncommon book and exceedingly uncommon in first edition. Professor Max Planck was the originator of the Quantum Theory, which equals the Theory of Relativity in its vital importance to modern physics. He was a Nobel Laureate in Physics and a former President of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society for the Advancement of Science - perhaps the highest post of honour in the German academic world. NB: this is the "true" first edition and not a modern reproduction. Photographs/scans available upon request.
