The second impression, first published in June 1928. This work was Sayers' fourth novel to feature amateur sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey, and is set at the Bellona Club, a fictional London club for war veterans. The work is considered one of Sayers' best early novels, and a critical work for the introduction and development of her aristocratic amateur detective.Sayers was a prolific author of crime fiction during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, and one of the 'Queens of Crime', alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh. In the publisher's original cloth binding. A touch of fading to back strip, with bumping to spine tail. Light spotting to fore edge of text block. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting throughout, most concentrated to page perimeters. Very Good
