Sobre este artículo

Boston: J. Draper for D. Henchman, 1739. Modern 3/4 morocco over marbled boards, raised bands, gilt titles, top edge gilt, (signed binding by Trout). [4], vii, [1], 275 pages. (6 3/4" x 4 1/2"). Signatures: A-S8. Includes several sermons by Gilbert Tennent and one, "The Great Glory of God" by Samuel Blair. Tennent (1703-1764), American Presbyterian clergyman and evangelist, participated in the revival movement, the Great Awakening, in the Middle colonies and New England. It is claimed that though Gilbert Tennent is outshined by men such as Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield, his (Tennent's) contribution to the Great Awakening were no less significant. that among friends and promotors of the revival he stood pre-eminent. In addition to "Riches of Christ" book contains the following Tennent Sermons: "An Exhortation to Walk in Christ"; "The Duty of Self-Examination"; "The Divinity of the Sacred Scriptures and the Dangers of Covetousness"; "The Legal Bow bent": "The Solemn Scene of the last Judgement"; The Preciousness of Christ to Believers." Pages trimmed not effecting text, paper repair to title page edge. Remains a very good, clean, tight copy of a rare colonial imprint by an important religious figure. Size: Octavo. First Edition.. Leather.
