Sobre este artículo

New York City, NY: Warner Books, 2001. First Edition. First Printing.. Softcover. Fine/No Dust Jacket, As Issued.. New York City, NY: Warner Books, 2001. Softcover. Fine/None, As Issued. First Edition/First Printing. 140 pages. The author's eighth novel. The sequel to "The General's Daughter". One of Nelson DeMille's finest achievements. Uncorrected Proof. Precedes and should not be confused with all other subsequent editions. Published in a tiny print run as a softcover original only for the exclusive use of the publisher and author. There is no ISBN. The First Edition is now scarce. Presents Nelson DeMille's "Up Country". Relentless in its brilliance and energy. "Revives the army career of Chief Warrant Officer Paul Brenner, the cynical, hardworking Criminal Investigation Division man who was forcibly retired after solving the high-profile killing in 'The General's Daughter'. Brenner is called back to investigate the murder of a young army lieutenant by his captain. The catch is, the crime took place during the heat of the Tet Offensive, and the only living witness is a North Vietnamese soldier who described the incident in a 30-year-old letter that has only recently come to light. The trip immediately turns dangerous as he heads up country to search for the letter writer, accompanied by a gorgeous American businesswoman. Intersperses historical facts and chilling political possibilities with enough local color to provide some serious flashbacks for his fellow veterans. The payoff at the end is worth a couple of hundred extra pages" (Barrie Trinkle). An absolute "must-have" title for Nelson DeMille collectors. This copy of the Uncorrected Proof is very prominently and beautifully signed and inscribed in blue ink-pen on the title page by the author: "For Ron, Best wishes, Nelson DeMille". It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. The recipient, Ron Barth, who is named, is personally known to the author. This title is a contemporary classic. This is one of few such signed copies of the Uncorrected Proof still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Copies available online have serious flaws, are subsequent printings, or are remainder-marked. This is surely an accessible and lovely alternative. A scarce signed copy thus. One of the finest American mystery novelists of our time. A fine copy. .
