London: Michael Joseph, 1991. Minor creasing to the edges of unclipped dustwrapper, slight fading to the spine of same, otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. The author's autobiography, he was born in 1948 with cerebral palsy which affected his legs. He was in a wheelchair aged ten after experimental surgery, but taught himself to walk again. Once he was mobile, he took up fishing, then fellwalking, sailing, and rock-climbing, eventually climbing Kala Pattar in the Himalayas in 1988. Signed by the author on title page "To .... Very best wishes, John Hawkridge". Originally published in January 1991, this is the third impression from February the same year. 246pp, 8pp b&w and 8pp colour illustrations.. Inscribed by Author. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
