Softcover, original 1914 publication though the front wrap is detached and rear wrap is missing - not a modern reprint or rebound library copy. Front cover contains the name stamp of F. C. Schrader and this is also stamped inside the book. Frank Charles Schrader (1860-1944) of Harvard and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) was a well-known and respected American geologist, mineralogist, and entomologist, and author. He was known throughout the west as the prospector's friend and was also one of the first federal geologists to explore Alaska. The exterior front cover is detached and about 70% of the spine covering is missing, as is the rear cover (wrap). The front wrap also has numerous creases and tears with the lower right corner being the worst with a tear of several inches. Internal binding is good and text pages are secure.… Leer más

There is a small scribble in pen on the front wrap, and there are a couple of thin open tears in the front wrap, near the spine, where the front wrap has pulled away from the staples of the binding (the front wrap is holding well). The wraps are mildly rubbed and creased, there is a subtle damp stain at the foot of the spine and on the surrounding areas of the covers, and there is a small loss from the bottom edge of the rear wrap, near the spine. There are two stamps from a previous owner on the front wrap, and there is one stamp on the title page. Complete, with the map in the rear pocket. The pocket is tattered, but the map is in very good condition, with the former owner's ink stamp in one of the margins. Contributions to economic geology, 1918, Part 1.
