Sobre este artículo
Tucson, AZ: Excalibur Publications, 2001. Second Printing [stated]. Trade paperback. Very good. 102, [2] pages. Illustrations. Topics covered include Acknowledgments; Introduction; World War II Acquisitions; Post War Developments; Appendix--Rifle Data; Bibliography; and About the Author. Nearly 100 years after the first converted rifles were purchased by the Navy, a workable conversion device was developed for the M16 Rifle. With the exception of the M16 adapters and a relatively few competition rifles, nearly all of the rifles in this book have been disposed of or transferred to the Civilian Marksmanship Program. This book is an attempt to chronicle this facet of United States martial firearms development. The author is a well-established martial firearms collector and authority. He was an active member of a number of military-oriented historical organizations. He suggested that those interested in contacting him go through his publisher. US Martial .22RF Rifles is a detailed review of the firearms used as martial .22RF training rifles by the US services. Beginning with the Model 1889 Rolling Block conversion, the book traces the use of the Krag, Hoffer-Thompson, Winder Musket, Winchester Model 1903, Model 1922 Springfield Gallery Practice Rifles, REMing ton Model 513T, Winchester Model 75, Stevens Model 416T, Mossberg Models 42MB and 44US and the H and R Model 65 and MC-58. Postwar rifles covered include the Mossberg Model, 144US, the Winchester Model 52 series, the REMing ton Models 511-P, 40-X, 521 and 541-X, M16 Conversions, the H and R Model 5200, the Kimber Model 82 Government and miscellaneous rifles. A comprehensive appendix of rifle data is included in the book.
