London: T. Bickerston, 1866. First Edition, Thus. Hardcover. Very Good. Two parts bound in one volume. 8vo., 56,48pp. Attributed to Edward Ward, this is the scarce reprint of the original from 1720. No date but c. 1866 though not in Gabler. Bound in original publisher's brown cloth. Titles stamped in gilt on spine. "Being a Description of the Manners and Customs of the most Eminent Publick Houses, in and about the Cities of London and Westminster. With a Hint on the Props (or Principal Customers) of each House. In a Method so plain that any Thirsty Person (of the meanest Capacity may easily find the nearest Way from one House to another". Square, tight and fairly clean throughout. Some fairly mild rubbing to spine ends, edges and tips. Little if any of the toning to spine or dulling of titles . A few areas of toning and soiling/discoloration to the boards. A few scattered spots of foxing on the outer page edges. A solid collectable copy.
