Sobre este artículo
London: C. Arthur Pearson, 1895. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 6". Harold Piffard. A first edition copy of the epic fantasy of reincarnation, battle and romance, by prolific writer and explorer George Griffith. 'Valdar the Oft-Born', the tale of a legendary warrior reborn again and again to fight the battles of seven ages, is written by George Griffith, a celebrated author of science fiction and contemporary to H.G. Wells and Jules Verne. Most noted for 'The Angel of the Revolution', Griffith enjoyed great success during his time but has since been overshadowed by the legacy of others, lending his works, especially 'Valdar', a sense of unappreciated timelessness. Illustrated by Harold Piffard, this first edition of 'Valdar' features 16 monochrome plates depicting the heroes journey from life to life. First edition. With sixteen monochrome plates, including frontispiece, collated complete. A prolific writer and explorer of both his own world and those of his fantasy, George Griffith presents a tale of mythic proportions in 'Valdar the Oft-Born'. In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt stamped decoration to the front board. Externally, very smart, with only some shelfwear to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. Some spotting to the very front and rear. Very Good Indeed
