Sobre este artículo

New York, New York: Valentine's Manual, Inc., 1920. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. First published 1841-1870 as the Manual of the Corporation of the City of New York, commonly known as Valentine's Manual, this is one of the New Series revived by editor Henry Collins Brown, published 1916-1928. Each book is full of vintage photos, prints, maps, engravings, & colored lithographs & contains fascinating statistics & vignettes about the city, its buildings, residences, & colorful local personalities. Offered here is the 1917/18 book (No. 2), which contains a frontispiece + over 100 illustrations. Hardcover 12mo is bound in deep blue cloth stamped with a gilt design of a ship to front cover inside a gilt border, lettered in gilt to spine, gilt to top page edges. 448 pp, including Index. Condition is Fine: just slightly less brilliant than when first published! Completely clean, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with a whisper of tanning around all edges & to endpapers. Internal illustrations & 2 foldout cityscapes are virtually flawless, with crisp colors & white margins. The second, an 8-panel foldout from a photo by the Brown Bros, shows" Lower Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge South" in 1876 & 1917. One lower corner very slightly bumped. No DJ, as issued. Our photos show the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand.
