Nicholson, 1866-1947, was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana and died in Indianapolis. See SEVEN AUTHORS OF CRAWFORDSVILLE, INDIANA, by Russo and Sullivan for a complete listing of his works. He says of this book that it was an attempt to interpret the aims and aspirations of the Middle Westerners after the end of World War I. It is a sort of sociological study of the Midwestern United States.
