. Vanity Fair portrait of Alfred (1844-1900), the second son. He was known as the Duke of Edinburgh from 1866 until he succeeded his paternal uncle Ernest II as the reigning Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in the German Empire.In 1867 as Captain of HMS Galatea he visited Australia where an assasination attempt was made on his life by Henry James O'Farrell.In 1873 Ward (1851 - 1922) was recruited by the editor of Vanity Fair to replace Carlo Pellegrini (Ape).

Sebra Prints is aowned by Dafydd Davies has over 20 years experience dealing with antique prints, both in Australia and in London. The name Sebra comes from an admiration for the mezzotint engraving of a zebra after George Stubbs which is titled 'Sebra'.
