ARNOULT Léon - William ABLETT (1877-1937 illustrator). Preowned, Signed. A l'Enseigne du Masque d'Or, chez Devambez, 1921, in-4°, 87 pp + 7 plate illustrations, printed in 303 numbered copies. Sewn, original printed stiff wrapper over blind wrapper. Printed wrapper, interior fine, uncut and unopened copy. Two of the illustrations are mixed technique plates by William Ablett, one is signed in pencil by the artist: a circular engraving with a lithographic image printed on it and heightened with gold. Editorial paperback, Jacket with title to the framed flat, beautiful allegorical friezes, endpapers, eyelet, cover page with the same frieze (antique collection stamp). The quantity of circulation - 303 copies justified, and numbering - №120, a preface paper, splendid table engraved by William Ablett and impressed by Devambez (signed in pencil by the Author), protected by tissue paper, 87 pages, indexes and colophon. Essay on fashion and aesthetics it analysed with the acumen of a scholar and the passionate love. As indicated, copies 4 to 303 were printed on vellum, heavy and rich, the volume is also embellished by seven wonderful paintings (two by Ablett, the other etchings by masters of the past) masterfully imprinted by Devambez. It worthy of great consideration and for the breadth and sharpness of the sage and the presence of the superb page plates. Including William Ablett's Greek scene - etching with aquatint, a painter and engraver. The book is in very good condition, good seams, uncut unopened pages. Exceptionally Rare and Very Important.
