Sobre este artículo
1867. LOSSING, Benson J. VASSAR COLLEGE AND ITS FOUNDER. NY: C.A. Alvord, 1867. Illustrated. Small quarto, embossed green cloth, gilt title on spine; 175 pages. First Edition. Lossing was a charter trustee of Vassar College. Signed presentation from Lossing on the front endpaper: "Miss Van [Amaning?], with the compliments of Benson J. Lossing. Dec. 19, 1878." With the ink name of "Louise McVey" penned beneath the presentation. Lacks the frontispiece of Matthew Vassar (included in the List of Illustrations) but, after checking a number of different copies, it appears that this portrait was left out in all copies published. Bookplate of Fanny Lee Weyant on the front pastedown. Very Good (little wear to spine tips & more to lower corners of covers; several small spots of dampstaining to upper corner of rear cover with a little transferred to the upper corner of the rear endpaper; contents clean & tight). An uncommon title and difficult to locate a signed copy! $275.00.
