Mantova, Alberti Pazzoni, 1740. First edition. "On the true system of the world, both physically and mechanically, and not by hypothesis explained in four synopses." Illustrated by one folding plates showing different astronomical systems. Very rare. Worldcat gives BNF and Lugano. OPAC SBN (Catalogo del Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale) gives two copies with a similar but different title, which reads : "quam excerptam ex praelectionibus mathematicis in alma pacifica universitate mantuana apud patres soc. Jesu, et in theses distributam publice propugnandam exhibet Paulus Niger" and for the other copy "exhibet Antonius Masettus". Therefore this text is extracted from mathematical lectures of the Jesuits in the university of Mantua. Very good copy. *** In-4 de 64 pp., 1 folding plate. Contemporary board "a la rustica". - -.
