Sobre este artículo

Toronto: William Briggs, 1894. Hardcover. Good. Toronto: William Briggs, 1894. First edition. Good. A rare first printing of the life of James Fitzgibbon who had the unusual distinction of receiving the Naval General Service Medal for the action at Copenhagen whilst serving as a private soldier in the 49th Regiment on board HMS Monarch but did not receive a Military General Service Medal for his more significant contribution to the war in Canada in 1812-14, being not present at any of the actions for which clasps were awarded. Gilt decorated and lettered light brown cloth, spine lightly faded and leans slightly, corners bumped, interior largely clean, some minor foxing to prelim pages and one or two juvenile pencil marks, mainly to the back of illustrations, an illustration missing between pages 72 and 73, fold-out facsimile of letter creased
