ATTRACTIVE CONTEMPORARY CITRON MOROCCO BY BRADEL L'AINÉ, (binder's ticket on verso of free endpaper), covers with a border of gilt rules, decorative rolls, and repeating garlands and bows, large central gilt stamp of the Crucifix with the Instruments of the Passion, smooth spine divided into compartments with gilt rules, compartments with gilt cross in center and a star in each corner, black morocco label with gilt lettering, gilt turn-ins, light blue silk pastedowns and endleaves. (With expert restorations to corners). WITH 16 ENGRAVED PLATES, ALL FINELY COLORED BY A CONTEMPORANEOUS HAND and with the original tissue guards. Three-line ink call number(?) on blank flyleaf at front. Boards bumped at head and heel of spine and corners, rubbed, soiled; a few small spots and pencil erasure to endpapers. A couple of notes in pencil on front of original wrappers, previous owner name in ink on title page; foxing to page edges and margins and to tissue protectors; a few small pieces missing from rear of wrapper.
