These are two first editions, both from 1975, of photographic records of the Victorian and Edwardian armies.
The first is The Victorian and Edwardian Army, compiled by the British writer John Fabb and published in 1975. (I also have the Royal Navy in Old Photographs listed here on .)
It is a wonderful cornucopia of images dating from the 1840s to just prior to the first world war. The captions are great and the photographs themselves are mostly of extraordinary quality given the time they were taken. More than anything however, the breadth of subjects captured makes this book stand apart from many picture books about the British Army. Beautiful collection.
150 pages with 154 photos. There is one loose page, otherwise in excellent condition.
The second book is The Victorian Army in Photographs, compiled by David Clammer and published by David & Charles. 96 pages, full of photos and explanatory text. There is very minor wear to the dust jacket. The book is in perfect condition.
