Sobre este artículo

Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1915. Following Conrad's acknowledged masterpieces, "Victory" received a mixed critical reception; nonetheless it was his first real commercial success. The continued fascination with the moral questions raised suggests more meat than initially recognized. This is a Near Fine copy of the First American Edition. The "true" first, as it preceded the English issue, and with the missing quotation marks on page 431 that indicate the first printing. Dark blue cloth binding with titling and sailing-ship decoration in gilt on the front cover; gilt titling on the spine. Clean text; 462 pages; with map of the settings of Conrad's novels as the front endpaper. Tiny rub to the tips; small ding to top of rear cover; spine slightly darkened with gilt a bit dulled. A solid and attractive copy. Lacking the scarce dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
