Video Amplifier - A wideband amplifier used for passing picture signals. Video amplifiers are designed to process video signals and have varying bandwidths depending on whether the video signal is for SDTV, EDTV, HDTV 720p or 1080i/p etc.. The specification of the bandwidth itself depends on what kind of filter is used—and at which point (-1 dB or -3 dB for example) the bandwidth is measured. Certain requirements for step response and overshoot are necessary for an acceptable TV image.
----------------------------
Video amplifiers allow a video signal to be filtered and displayed with a higher resolution. Signal quality is improved with a video amplifier and, depending on the size, they can handle multiple sources of video input. The number of input and output ports on the video amplifier and the size of the internal processor determine its capacity. Some video amplifiers can simultaneously filter video signals from TVs, security cameras and DVRs. By processing the signals at higher speeds, the clarity of the video image is enhanced.
There are many different kinds of video amplifiers.
The most common values for gain are 0.1 dB and 6 dB. We also carry video amplifiers with gain up to 400 dB. The number of channels can be between 1 and 6, with the most common chips having 1 or 3 channels.
A video amplifier can improve the quality and resolution of video signals received from DVDs, computer monitors and TVs. They can also be used in order to improve the video quality on smaller televisions that are installed in vehicles and smart phones. Amplifiers are also used to improve the quality and resolution of video signals from security cameras.
