Vol.1 and Vol.3 ('A Supplement to the First and Second Volumes of the View of Deistical Writers') rebound in marbled boards with black leather spines, each having two gilt-on red spine labels and gilt date; Volume 2 (which is in slightly larger format) has original , full leather binding with a gilt on black label, all extremities rubbed, sp. a little darkened, a little surface wear in a few places but clean. Vol.!: new end-papers and fly leaves, t.p.+ xii + (10, unpaginated Contents) + 483, some head and tail pieces; clean. tight and unmarked but lightly tanned margins throughout; Vol.2: pub. list + vii + (12, unpag.Contents) + 668 + 16 ('Addition and Alterations for Volume 1, errata on p.16), some engrave head- and tail- pieces; 3 small early sigs to fr. end-papers, edge-tanning (off-set from binding as typical), a few small paper breaks to gutter, rear end-papers more heavily edge-tanned, gutter opening but secure, otherwise clean, tight and unmarked with only very intermittent marginal tanning this vol. has extensive 'Observations on Mr. Hume's Philosophical Essays'. Vol.3. as Vol.1, t.p. + vii + 368 + 'extensive' Index to all vols, unpaginated, Bb -Dd2., some head- and tail- pieces,; light marginal tanning throughout, one lead has thin strip of outer margin missing but looks like a paper fault. All top edges appear dust darkened but erhaps also dark tinted.Scarce as a set in good condition. Weighs over 2 kg unpacked so allow for additional postage outside UK.
