Photographic paperback binding with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A scholarly study of the Vikings from the years 800 to 1100 C. E. The author looks into ability of the Vikings to inhabit North Atlantic Islands, but not maintain settlements in North America, why they could reach the coasts of Western Europe and penetrate Eastern Europe to Istanbul but could not penetrate to Central Europe, along with a history of the people themselves. Translated by Kalle Skov. Minor creasing of the book corners and reading creases of the back strip. Rubbing of the book edges and panels with some chipping of the back strip region. Browning and foxing of the text block edges with lighter browning of the pages. Foxing to the verso of the book covers and to the first few and last few pages of the book.
