Anne Rice (1941-2021) was born Howard Allen Frances O'Brien and found fame as an American novelist, best known for The Vampire Chronicles and her work in gothic fiction. Rice' books have sold more than 100 million copies and have been adapted for film, television, stage plays and even comic books.
