Pages clean except for thumbing bends at the top free corners and light foxing along the fore- and head edges. Smyth-sewn binding is relaxed, but secure. Black hard cover shows a small, clear droplet mark at the upper rear, a bump with accompanying softening and creasing at the spine head, taps and inward turns at the corners, and some softening at the spine heel along with mild shelf-rubbing at the bottom edges, corners, and spine ends, otherwise sound. Green dustjacket shows a surface scuff with two spots of darkening at the middle front, short tears with heavy creasing between at the spine head and some edgewear along the head edges, an open chip and modest wrinkling at the spine heel, a few clear drip spots on the rear, and some shelfwear around the corners, otherwise bright, attractive, unclipped, and now protected in an archivally safe, removable sleeve. 107pp. An investigation of print-legibility research and typographic attempts to improve legibility.
